Submit BAM for Analysis

I agree to allow my Next Generation Sequencing results to be analyzed for inclusion in the haplogroup-r.org experimental tree and use as outlined in the Data Policy.
I agree to allow a GRCh38 gVCF variant report made available as part of my Y DNA profile. This data may be used by researchers in the pursuit of genealogical or scientific investigation.

Instructions to Submit Big Y BAMs

  1. If you have not already requested FTDNA makes your BAM available, a ticket needs to be created with the Support > Open a Request option as pictured.

    Their help desk will release the file in 2-4 weeks depending on volume.
  2. Once the BAM has been created, a temporary link can be created from you Big Y Download Raw Results page.
    Share BAM
    The button will create a large URL that can be pasted into the Retrieval URL box for the submission.
  3. Fill in the rest of the Submit BAM for analysis. Provide the Surname and Country of Origin that should be displayed in the reporting, which lab processed the sample and the corresponding kit #, and the type of test. This information is used for tracking statistics and will be used in future reporting.

Instructions to Submit Y Elite BAMs

  1. Full Genomes Corp allows their customers to share results with other customers directly. Use the Share Kit button from your results page and share with jkane <at> tds.net.
  2. If you have a Cloud file-sharing account like Dropbox, you can also use the provided form to submit the BAM.
  3. Fill in the rest of the Submit BAM for analysis.
